WMTSB

Been a bit lazy with writing here....I always say that. So what's been happening? I had a visit from my old flatmate Lisa for one week while she was on her way back to Australia. The main highlights included our trip to Disneyland and another snowboarding adventure. Disneyland was an odd experience for me, I've never really liked Mickey Mouse, and I kind of didn't connect the idea that I was going to this place with all these people dressed in these suits. I think I was expecting more rollercoasters and stuff. So when we got there I realised what it really was, a kind of eerie plastic world, based on some 1950's cartoons, to make it more odd though, they'd all been dubbed in Japanese. We headed to the left 1st, and there was this space centre thing, so we went in. It was easy to tell it was built in the 80's, around the time of Return of the Jedi, because it had a Starwars theme. C3PO and R2-D2 were there, amongst other dodgy droids. I wasn't surprised to see C3PO speaking fluent Japanese either. The droids were digging through futuristic garbage, like machine parts and other things, like droids do. Among the garbage was an old Amstrad or Commodore 64 computer. This was what they imagined the future would look like back then. Makes me think of Back to the future 2, when they go to 2015, which is only 9 years away, they better hurry up on those flying cars and holo-movies, and where the hell is my hover board? So the ride, it was one of the things where everyone gets put in a small auditorium connected to hydraulics and you watch a movie which represents the view from the space ship, as the ship moves the room jolts around creating the sensation that we really are moving, not bad really. It took a few minutes, and C3PO was there again giving us seatbelt instructions in Japanese, he's so clever. This kind of thing I think would be very interesting to alien observing our planet, well most fun park rides would create curiosity. What are those humans doing? They pay to wait in line to be put in a box and shaken around for 5 minutes, they truly are odd specimens. On the way in the sign said "You have 30 minutes wait from here", luckily it was winter and kind of empty, 'cause I'd be pissed off if I waited for that more than 5 minutes. Man so easy to ramble, and I haven't even gotten to the snowboarding. After this we went to an indoor rollercoaster, it was cool, the best thing is it's dark so you can't see where you are going, it wasn't too big though, and I thought it was a good warm up for the more hardcore rides. Unfortunately this was as hard as it got.... We wanted to go to splash mountain, but as we arrived they closed it, and some other mountain train thing was closed for repairs, so we took a haunted house tour, it would've maybe scared me 25 years ago, but I'm smarter now. After we ended up going on whatever ride was indoors as it was getting cold. At least now I can rest in peace having seen Disneyland, but everyone who hasn't been there shouldn't worry, it's over rated.
A few days later we went snowboarding, same bus ride of death, the best thing was, I'd been here before, so I knew what was going on. I got better at it, it's funny how things that seemed difficult, now were quite easy, like the forest path last time was very hard for me, 'cause it's so tight you can't carve, but this time I just cruised down. There were no serious injuries this time, still I ate alot of snow, it was very powdery this time, so there was plenty for the eating. I did knacker myself at one stage, cruising down the hill, I noticed my binding was dragging in the snow, I looked down for a minute to figure it out, then next thing I knew I was on the ground with that stomach pain feeling that means you hit your nads. But it was ok, I also started doing little jumps, very little, but they were jumps none the less. It was a good trip, except for the bus ride there and back.....
We also went out and had sushi, I'm actually liking the rawness of it more, at first I thought it was disgusting and swallowed it whole, but now I feel like I'm doing something good for myself and I actually chewed my raw bit of fish and enjoyed the taste and the rubbery texture. At this point I can see that my typing is shit, so I'm gonna wrap this one up. Bye.
